Agitation for internet freedom claimed its first cyber victim in Andhra Pradesh, when Anonymous, a coalition of hacktivists, hacked the website of AP Power Generation Corporation Limited and added a page to it. The hacked website continued to host the additional page at ‘www.apgenco.gov.in/anon.html’.
The Indian arm of Anonymous has already called for Occupy protests in several cities across India to protest against fetters on internet freedom on June 9. As support for the planned non-violent protests increased on social networking sites, the group hacked the Genco website, perhaps to exhibit its seriousness on the issue it is taking up.
The group maintained that the site was hacked to protest internet censorship and claimed that it had already taken down several government websites and other websites that supported the blocking of file sharing websites. “It is time you weak up to the nightmare that is your government! It is time you stand up for what is right. Do not let your government censor you! It is time for you to take charge. It is time you say “Enough is enough. It is time we end this cycle of corruption”, the group said in the message

Yet another attack!
State-owned telecom firm BSNL's Website was hacked on Thursday by a group that demanded withdrawal of section 66 A of the IT Act.
The Website 'www.bsnl.co.in' was quickly restored.
The group Anonymous India said that it hacked the Website in support of activists Aseem Trivedi and Alok Dixit, who are on a hunger strike to protest Section 66A of the IT Act.
"Our website has been hacked and our people are working on it," BSNL Chairman and Managing Director R K Upadhyay told PTI.
The site has since been restored.
The Twitter account of Anonymous India (@opindia_revenge) said, "BSNL Websites hacked, passwords and database leaked http://pastebin.com/wjtiyvx4 Anonymous India demands withdrawal of Sec 66A of IT Act."
Trivedi and Dixit are on a hunger strike for the last six days in protest against Sec 66A of IT Act.
Facing public protests on the recent controversial arrest of some persons for their Facebook posts using the section 66A of IT Act, Government last month came out with guidelines where a police officer no less than the rank of DCP can sanction prosecution.
The guidelines were being issued after controversial arrests by Mumbai police under Section 66 (A) of Information Technology (IT) Act that deals with spreading hatred through electronic messages.

Indian Anonymous hacker group has breached the official website of India's Communication and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal(www.kapilsibalmp.com).
On August 2012, they break into the website and published a number of screenshots on the social media website Facebook to demonstrate that they gained access to the site’s backend.
